History of the Fairfax County Police Department

The Original FCPD History Book

“History of the Fairfax County Police Department, 1921 – 1990”

This is the first comprehensive written history about one of the top police agencies in the USA, authored by retired FCPD 2nd Lieutenant Dan Courtney and put together by a dedicated team of retired Officers and a civilian volunteer. The development of Fairfax County, Virginia, located across the Potomac River from Washington, DC, has required the FCPD to continually respond to societal, technological, and infrastructure changes. Ride along with FCPDs’ finest from busting stills in the Roaring 20s to using DNA evidence to convict criminals in the 80s. Contains 585 illustrations (b&w and color), name index, subject index, and bibliography–plus appendices incl. chiefs, helicopters, patches, firearms, stations, badges, communications, and vehicles.
